The benefits of the 2024 Classique Vague à Guy

As you already know, on September 28, the very first edition of the Classique de la Vague was held in Guy, where 16 women and 16 men competed against each other on longboards. Now it's time to reveal the results of this great event.

👩👨👧 Crowd
The organizing committee arrived early in the morning, closely followed by the team of volunteers, athletes and partners. The crowd, which came to applaud the competitors, enjoy the various kiosks and watch the musical performances, gradually formed under the radiant sunshine. According to estimates by Ville de Lasalle officials, there were some 2,000 participants in all during the day.

💰💰💰 Revenues
The event generated revenue from a variety of sources, including beer, Mateina and T-shirt sales, as well as discounts and donations from generous partners. We should also mention the generosity of the Ville de LaSalle, which provided a grant of $4,000.
All in all, the event generated close to $4,700 in profits, which were donated to Surf Grand Montréal, to help with its various projects.

📝📝📝 New Surf Grand Montréal's members
In all, 66 new members officially joined the Surf Grand Montréal community, bringing the total to 472. We can't stress this enough. It's by increasing our membership as much as possible that we'll be able to gain greater legitimacy and power of representation with the various bodies likely to collaborate on our various initiatives. So, if you haven't already done so, don't forget to join.
💵💵💵Community donations
All surfers can become members of Surf Grand Montréal free of charge. For those who wish, donations are of course greatly appreciated, as they too contribute to the realization of our various projects.
During the Classic, we raised $180 in donations. Thank you to all our generous donors.
🎁🎁🎁 Value of prizes awarded
The athletes, both male and female, who placed in the top three positions all received prizes, as well as the athlete who demonstrated the best sportsmanship. In total, prizes worth nearly $5,000 were awarded.
